Perfect condision 1 year old laptop HP with 3 gig of ram, 250 hard drive, wireless and bluetooth, Windows XP pro, 2 nine cell batteries, 5 hours each, docking station, CD/DVD, 3 u s b ports, loaded, have made the switch to VISTA. Will leave JAWS 9 or 10 on it your prefference. Asking $800.
What would the price be without Jaws on it? What processor does the computer have.
Buy.com is selling an HP with Vista, 4 gigs of ram 500gb hard drive pentium dual core 2.0ghz processors for $499, but the battery on it is only 6 cell and vista is a bit of a downside.
So, given that, without Jaws, what would you put on this?
The processer is a Pentium dual core 2.4, it also has Bluetooth which I am sure that the Buy.com unit doesn't have, remember you get both 9 cell batteries, and the docking station that was $200 by it self. I paied near $2000 for this system, therefore, I would let it go for $700. I just want to get enough so I don't have to add too much to it in order to replace it with a new VISTA system with a 750 gig hard drive and 6 to 8 gig of RAM.
Why wouldn't a newer laptop also have bluetooth, and unless both of those laptops come with vista 64 its pointless to have the 2+ GB o of ram that they are both packing. And depending on what you are using the computer for with the right OS the 4GB of ram may be better in the long run than the faster processor.. but then you would have to take things like the processors L2 Casche into account as well. ... Gotta love computers ..worth their weight in gold today .. paperweight tommorrow lol
btw since you are only knocking $100 off the price are you willing to sell Jaws 10 for that price then?
Just out of curiosity, why do you want to switch to Vista?
I'd much rather wait until Windows 7 myself, more stable, better on memory usage, sleaker and, apparently,huge improvement on Vista, and it's in pretty near future so why not Vista go to the trashbin of history and wait for the next thing? I mean, you may have reasons definitely, I'm just curious, because I love XP, take it over Vista any day.

btw i don't know if you guys know but microsoft has announced that if you buy a pc starting friday june 26th, that comes with vista you get a free upgrade to Windows 7 when its available in october, but you will have to check with that pc's manufacturer to see how they plan on deploying that.
I just purchased a new desktop on Sunday and I get the free upgrade to Windows 7. However, I like the way VISTA runs on this system and I want both of my systems using the same operating systems. I was leaving JAWS on it to be nice, know other reason, I would not cell it for 100 dollars. I don't really give a shit if you want the system or not. I listed it and that is it. I know a lot of blind people don't like VISTA and this is a great laptop.
If you do not give a shit, why did you list the system then, if you truly didn't you wouldn't try to sell it?
If you offerred the system for what it's truly worth, around $550 (high end, $400 would be a good bargain), no one would comment, if you list it for $700 it's overpriced, I don't really give a shit if it is or not, but I want to point it out to potential buyers, no wait, I fell into my own verbal trap here, aaargh.
I'm also trying to sell my laptop with windows vista on it if anyone wants it? 2gb of ram, 160 hard drive and kind of similar to the one above. Asking about 350 to 400 £ or nearest offer.
By the way, I was told a while ago that 1 gb is needed to run windows vista alone, so that's why most laptops have 2 at least.
Yes that is accurate vista does need 1GB but ram is so cheap now 2GB would be the ideal mininum. Though as I said unless you are running vista 64 its kind of pointless to have a system with more than 2GB since the regular version of vista can't do much of anything with the extra ram.
Okay, if I read this right and all the replies, the one's that's for sale has XP on it? I own JAWS 9 and would be willing to install that on it myself. Where would it be shipping from and how would you want payment? I don't send cash through the mail.
Is this one wireless or can I still hook my HP printer to it?
